Kerissa Fuccillo

This is a woman I know personally-my best friend's sister. Her charm and warm hearted nature transcend beyond the bounds of her undeniably beautiful lyric. Her voice rambles effortlessly from her soul. The edges of it burn a smoldering blue electric, a velvet twang hums beneath her vocals. A soothing, muted murmur is the mantra of each song's prayer. You listen to her and sounds blend into color- not in a psychedelic way, but when you listen you're taken away to a smoky bar, a romantic but simple place. Sip your beer and let the songs sink in. Blink your eyes open and you're back from the fantasy, but yearning for more. Multi-instrumental "Railroad Eyes" in particular has the ability to render this type of imagery for me. As a bluesy saxophone melts in the background Kerissa's sultry voice cruises sexy down the lane, a sugarcane strut with a Brandy kick.

Kerissa is currently unsigned, but there's no good reason for that. Based out of Ashland, Oregan, the singer-songwriter has a voice and talent that is wise beyond her years.
Her myspace is http://www.myspace.com/kerissafuccillo
but her official web site is http://www.kerissafuccillo.com  There you can listen to her whole full self-titled album for free. But I encourage you to buy these songs instead-on her site she has a "name your price" button for downloading the album, or individual songs. The songs are all different. As Kerissa herself writes on her web site, "This album is my first self-produced body of work. It is a mix of various styles of songs that I have written over the last few years." She also gives credit to everyone who has helped contribute to the album-throughout the album there are songs that have violin, sax, fiddle, banjo, or a combination! Kerissa is responsible not only for guitar and vocals but also bass, drums, and keyboard! This is a talented woman who writes songs of substance. It would be nice to hear more songs like this on the radio, and less songs with empty lyrics and soulless vibes.

Support her if you love her-ignore me if you don't.
